The Povoação Trail returns for its 6th edition on March 15, 2026, in the breathtaking region of Povoação, São Miguel Island (Azores). This nature-based event features four distances — Trail Ultra (50 km), Trail (30 km), Trail Sprint (15 km), and a non-competitive 9 km hike — offering something for every level of trail runner.
Runners will navigate technical, scenic trails, including forests, agricultural paths, streams, and mountain slopes, with significant elevation gain (up to D+3500). The Ultra and main Trail events are designed for experienced athletes, while the Sprint and Walk provide accessible options for newcomers.
Organized by HL Runners Club in partnership with the Municipality of Povoação, this event offers a supportive and adventurous atmosphere. It’s also part of the local São Miguel Trail Circuit and may contribute to the ATRP national ranking.
The Ultra Trail do Marão 2026 (UTM 2026) returns from March 26 to 29, 2026, set in the dramatic terrain of Serra do Marão, with its headquarters in Amarante, Portugal. This iconic mountain trail running event is known for its rugged beauty, technical challenges, and warm local atmosphere.

The Farol Adventure Trail – Flores Azores (FAT) returns on 25 April 2026, offering runners an unforgettable journey across the dramatic landscapes of Flores Island, Azores. Starting from the iconic Farol do Albarnaz and finishing at Farol da Ponta das Lajes, the event showcases lush valleys, coastal cliffs, volcanic formations, and waterfalls such as Poço do Bacalhau and Poço do Ferreiro.
This is more than a race—it’s an immersion into the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, passing through all parishes in the municipality of Lajes das Flores. Certified by the Associação de Trail Running de Portugal (ATRP), FAT is part of the National Trail Circuit, attracting both competitive trail athletes and nature enthusiasts.

Zela Ultra Marathon (ZUM) returns for its 9th edition on May 1–2, 2026, in the scenic mountains of Vouzela, Portugal. Organized by SpotCriativo Eventos with local support, ZUM offers an immersive skyrunning experience across five distances, from vertical kilometers to mid-distance mountain challenges.
The event emphasizes autonomy, self-sufficiency, and fair play, providing runners a demanding yet rewarding environment with stunning alpine scenery. Races range from beginner-accessible to expert-level endurance courses, all in a circular or linear mountain format.

The VII Edition of the 24 Hours Running Mem Martins – Sintra is a long-duration endurance running event that will take place on May 9 and 10, 2026, in Mem Martins, Sintra. The event features multiple race options including 24-hour, 12-hour, and 3-hour races, as well as a Night Marathon, all held on a certified closed-loop circuit of 1,609.34 meters.
Open to individual athletes and teams (for the 24-hour race), this competition welcomes both federated and non-federated runners aged 18 and above. The courses offer a unique combination of asphalt, dirt, and wooden boardwalk surfaces within the scenic Parque da Bacia de Retenção de Águas do Algueirão, creating a distinct and varied terrain for participants.

The Forum Barreiro Night Run – 10th Edition will light up the streets of Barreiro at night, offering distances such as 10 km, 5 km, and a Kids’ Race. This community and charity event donates 10% of its proceeds to social causes, encouraging participation from all ages in a fun, safe, and energetic evening atmosphere.
